The WarFighter Helmet
Mounted System is the only helmet-mounted
hands free thermal imaging camera for soldiers.
It is similar in all
respects to the Firefighter
and Sentry version except
that it is not insulated for heat and it has a
brightness control.
It mounts to the helmet by bracket or strap
attachment.
It has a very bright OLED display which
can be mitigated by the brightness control.
The Warfighter HelmetVue was designed for operations
requiring additional range capability for the
user. The 17 degree field of view camera provides
greater detection ranges than the 50 degree field
of view camera.
Also, this version provides a 1:1 ratio relationship
between the image and the object
The Warfighter HelmetVue is similar in most respects
to the Sentry version with the exceptions that
it has a 17 degree field of view and a
manual focusing capability.
